Internet radio works almost like a real-world radio, except that – what is the Net and no online equivalent in radio stations that fight bands at frequency – the choice is almost endless. The radio on iTunes is so simple. Connect to the Internet, click the Radio icon in the source list and browse the list of genres and stations. When you find a station you want to look like, double-click it, wait a few seconds and the stream should start. You can create shortcuts to your favorites by dragging them to a playlist.
New stations are often uploaded. To update your list, select Radio from the original list and press the Refresh button in the upper-right corner of the iTunes window.
More internet radio
iTunes only scratches the surface of the online radio. Search Google or browse a directory like about, and you will find links to thousands of additional stations. Most stations are accessible via a website. Everything you need to log in if you do not have them already, are the rights of media players: RealPlayer and Windows Media Player are appropriate.
The iPod
There are two main limitations of online radio, in addition to the imperfect sound quality. First, although some online radio stations offer “on demand” programs, they generally have to be in the right place at the right time to listen to them. Second, you can not access the online radio on your iPod. However, there are programs that are specifically available to capture around these limits by saving the radio on your hard drive as MP3 files. Click Podcast in the Source list, and then click the Podcast Directory link to browse and subscribe to podcasts via the iTunes Music Store. iTunes automatically downloads the latest dew programs from each podcast you subscribe to and places them in a special playlist, ready to be transferred to your Pod.
